How it works.

The questionnaire looks at the things that change an estate plan: your state, your family, your property, anyone who depends on public benefits, and whether an injury case or a recent loss is involved. Your results suggest a starting point — your attorney confirms what you actually need at your consultation, where the first hour is free.

What happens next.

  • Send your results (optional) and we'll call to schedule, already knowing what you're looking for.
  • Meet with your attorney — Jeff Barnett for Texas, Shawn Barnett for New Mexico — in person, by phone, or by video.
  • Sign your documents with the required witnesses and notary, with our bilingual staff available to explain everything in Spanish.

Common questions.

Is this legal advice?+
No. The questionnaire gives general suggestions based on your answers. Your attorney will confirm what you need at your consultation, and nothing here creates an attorney-client relationship.
Do you store my answers?+
No. Your answers stay in your browser unless you choose to send them to our team at the end.
What if I already have some documents?+
Tell us at your consultation. We'll review what you have and prepare only what's missing or out of date.
Is the consultation free?+
The first hour is free. If your consultation runs longer than an hour and you don't purchase an estate planning package, additional time is billed at $300 per hour, prorated to the nearest quarter hour.

Texas estate planning services are provided by Jeff Barnett, Of Counsel (Texas Practice), of Barnett & Leuty, PC, Austin, Texas, licensed in Texas. New Mexico estate planning services are provided by Shawn Barnett, Managing Attorney, licensed in New Mexico. This page provides general information, not legal advice; reading it does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Rather talk it through? Call us.

Our team can walk through the questions with you by phone, in English or Spanish. The first hour of an estate planning consultation is free.
